Maria Caiata Zufferey holds a PhD in sociology. Her main research focuses on qualitative methods. She has worked on the normative transformation in the field of drug addiction, on the relationship between doctor and patient in the information age, as well on the design and evaluation of web-sites and virtual communities for enhancing self-management of chronic diseases. The transversal topic of all her studies is the individual's action in the context of uncertainty.
